Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople with construction tasks including excavation, material handling, and site preparation
- Operate basic equipment like jackhammers, saws, and power tools under supervision
- Load, unload, and organize construction materials at job sites
- Maintain clean and safe work areas by removing debris and following safety protocols
- Read and interpret basic construction plans and instructions
- Participate in team lifting operations and material transport
- Report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns to supervisors
Qualifications
- No prior construction experience required - training provided
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic understanding of verbal and written instructions
- Valid driver's license preferred but not required
- Commitment to workplace safety and following OSHA guidelines
- Reliable transportation to job sites within Virginia Beach area
