Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites by cleaning and organizing materials, digging trenches, and setting up temporary structures.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and distribute construction materials, tools, and equipment safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual labor.
- General Labor: Assist with concrete pouring, framing, drywall hanging, painting, and other basic construction tasks under supervision.
- Site Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by removing debris and following all OSHA safety regulations.
- Equipment Support: Operate basic power tools and hand tools, reporting any maintenance needs to the site supervisor.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors to ensure project milestones are met.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous construction or general labor experience is preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Availability: Must be available to work part-time shifts, including weekends or overtime as needed.
- Tools: Basic understanding of construction safety protocols and the ability to use basic hand tools.
- Transportation: Reliable personal transportation to commute to various job sites in the San Antonio area.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and a willingness to learn new skills.
