Responsibilities
- Assist Journeyman Electricians: Learn to perform routine electrical tasks under supervision, including conduit bending, wire pulling, and terminal connections.
- Read and Interpret Blueprints: Develop the skills necessary to read electrical schematics and diagrams to understand project requirements.
- Maintain Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA safety standards and site-specific safety protocols to ensure a hazard-free work environment.
- Tool and Material Management: Organize workspaces, maintain tools in good condition, and manage inventory of electrical materials.
- Install and Repair Systems: Assist in the installation of lighting fixtures, outlets, switchgear, and low-voltage systems in residential and commercial settings.
- Site Preparation: Help prepare job sites by digging trenches, mounting electrical panels, and ensuring proper wiring pathways.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Driver’s License: A valid, clean driver’s license is preferred for travel to various job sites.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Basic Math Skills: Comfort with basic arithmetic and measurements is essential for wiring calculations.
- Willingness to Learn: A strong desire to train, learn new techniques, and follow safety guidelines is the most important qualification.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
