Job Overview
As an Electrician Apprentice, you will work under the supervision of licensed master electricians. You will learn the fundamentals of electrical systems, safety protocols, and installation techniques while contributing to local community projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist Journeyman Electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.
- Prepare job sites by gathering necessary tools, materials, and safety equipment.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Install and terminate conduit, wiring, and electrical components according to local codes.
- Perform routine inspections of electrical equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all OSHA safety standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is preferred; trade school coursework is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and obtain a Journeyman Electrician license (we help facilitate this).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between job sites in NY and IL.
- Physical stamina to stand, kneel, bend, and work in various environments (including attics and crawlspaces).
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating electrical loads.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
