Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems under supervision of licensed electricians
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Assist with troubleshooting electrical issues using diagnostic tools
- Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and NYC building regulations
- Prepare work areas and maintain clean, organized job sites
- Document work performed using digital reporting systems
- Participate in safety training and follow OSHA protocols
- Support senior electricians on complex commercial and residential projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school/vocational training preferred
- Basic understanding of electrical principles and circuitry
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various environments (climbing, confined spaces)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Willingness to obtain NYC electrician apprentice license within 6 months
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional nights/weekends
- Basic math skills for load calculations and material estimation
