Responsibilities
- Lead strategic foresight initiatives identifying disruptive opportunities for 2026+
- Architect and execute R&D roadmaps for emerging technologies (quantum, AR/VR, synthetic biology)
- Partner with C-suite executives to align innovation with business objectives
- Mentor multidisciplinary teams in agile development of prototypes
- Secure and manage innovation grants totaling $5M+ annually
- Present breakthrough concepts to investors and industry forums
- Drive patent portfolios with 15+ new IP filings yearly
Qualifications
- 10+ years in innovation/tech leadership with 5+ in futuristic R&D
- Proven track record launching market-defining products (e.g., AI, IoT, space tech)
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Futures Studies
- Expertise in emerging tech forecasting frameworks (e.g., Delphi, Horizon Scanning)
- Strong network with Silicon Valley VCs and research institutions
- Proficiency in innovation management tools (e.g., Pivotal Tracker, Miro)
- Published thought leadership in tech futurism (e.g., IEEE, HBR)
- Experience scaling teams from 5 to 50+ innovators
