Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment at job sites to ensure smooth operations.
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris, excavating, and setting up temporary structures.
- Equipment Support: Operate basic construction equipment (such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or generators) under supervision to move materials.
- Cleaning & Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe work area by sweeping, shoveling, and disposing of waste in accordance with OSHA safety standards.
- Trade Assistance: Help skilled tradespeople (electricians, plumbers, carpenters) by fetching tools, holding materials, or performing basic assembly tasks.
- Site Inspections: Assist in basic site inspections and report any safety hazards or material defects to the site supervisor immediately.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or general labor is preferred but not required; we train the right candidates.
- Physical Fitness: Must be able to perform physical labor including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- License: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required for site transportation.
- Communication: Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors.
- Safety Awareness: Basic knowledge of construction safety protocols (OSHA 10 certification is a plus but not mandatory).
- Tools: Basic understanding of common construction tools and their proper use.
