Responsibilities
- Lead research initiatives in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to design next-generation quantum processors
- Develop quantum algorithms for optimization problems in machine learning and cryptography
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at premier quantum conferences
- Secure $5M+ in research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Mentor PhD researchers and establish industry partnerships
- Develop quantum security protocols for critical infrastructure
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in quantum computing research
- Published research in Nature/Science journals on quantum algorithms
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface, LDPC, color codes)
- Proficiency with Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum SDKs
- Experience leading multi-institutional research projects
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mitigation techniques
- Strong track record of securing government research funding
