Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for cryptography optimization and machine learning acceleration
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims using 100+ qubit systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to mitigate decoherence in superconducting qubits
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals with quarterly targets
- Secure $2M+ in DoE/NIST grants for quantum-resistant infrastructure projects
- Mentor PhD researchers in quantum error correction methodologies
- Advocate for quantum computing standards at IEEE and ISO committees
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with gate-based quantum programming (Qiskit/Cirq)
- Publication record in top-tier quantum computing conferences (QIP, etc.)
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface, color codes)
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with HPC optimization experience
- Clearance for DOE QIS research projects (or ability to obtain)
- Portfolio demonstrating quantum algorithm implementations on real hardware
