Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead research initiatives in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to bridge theoretical models with physical quantum processors
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure and manage research grants from DARPA, NSF, and industry partners
- Mentor junior researchers and supervise graduate student projects
- Develop intellectual property portfolios with commercialization potential
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 5+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and quantum programming languages
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent top-tier journals
- Experience with quantum simulation frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and complexity theory
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding ($500K+)
- Experience mentoring research teams and managing academic collaborations
