Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction protocols to enhance quantum system stability
- Collaborate with physicists and engineers to prototype quantum hardware solutions
- Lead research initiatives in quantum machine learning applications
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and drive cross-functional innovation projects
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grant applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related quantum field with 3+ years of research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Proven track record of publishing high-impact quantum computing research
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and computational complexity
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
