Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing systems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes at 4K mK temperatures
- Collaborate with materials scientists to engineer superconducting qubit architectures
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature Physics and IEEE Quantum Journal
- Secure $2M+ in DARPA/NIST quantum research grants
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (2020-2026)
- 3+ years experience with quantum circuit simulation (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing conferences
- Expertise in quantum error correction and topological quantum computing
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and low-level FPGA programming
- Deep understanding of quantum machine learning frameworks
- Clearance for DOE quantum research initiatives (preferred)
