Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing error-corrected quantum architectures
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Secure $5M+ in government/industry grants for quantum research initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates and patent at least 3 quantum computing innovations annually
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into functional systems
- Present findings at global quantum summits including IEEE Quantum Week
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science from Tier 1 institution
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Expertise in quantum machine learning and quantum annealing techniques
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments (HPC, cloud quantum services)
- Strong track record of securing federal research grants (NSF, DOE, DARPA)
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary research teams
- Patent portfolio in quantum technologies preferred
