Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum hardware interfaces
- Secure $1M+ in research grants through NSF and DARPA proposals
- Author 3+ peer-reviewed publications annually in top-tier journals
- Collaborate with AI division on quantum-classical hybrid computing models
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum machine learning frameworks
- Proficiency in Python, Qiskit, and quantum simulation tools (Q#)
- Publication record in Nature/Science or IEEE Transactions
- Experience with superconducting or photonic quantum systems
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research funding
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
