Responsibilities
- Design and execute quantum algorithms for practical applications in optimization and machine learning
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead research initiatives in quantum machine learning and hybrid quantum-classical architectures
- Publish peer-reviewed papers and present findings at international quantum computing conferences
- Develop proprietary quantum software frameworks using Python, Qiskit, and C++
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Secure external funding through NSF grants and industry partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (MS with exceptional experience considered)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Publication record in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant system design
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Proficiency in Python and at least one low-level programming language (C++/Rust)
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into experimental implementations
