Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes in cryogenic environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to commercialize breakthrough quantum technologies
- Publish findings in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, Quantum) and present at IEEE/APS conferences
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from DARPA/NSF
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
- Drive open-source quantum software initiatives for community advancement
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent industry experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development using Qiskit/Cirq frameworks
- Published record in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant systems
- Proficiency with superconducting qubit manipulation and microwave pulse engineering
- Experience securing federal research grants
- Deep understanding of quantum supremacy benchmarks and NISQ-era limitations
- Patents or peer-reviewed publications in quantum information theory
