Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for machine learning and cryptography applications
- Optimize qubit coherence and error correction protocols in superconducting quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical models into practical quantum circuits
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop quantum software development kits (SDKs)
- Publish groundbreaking research in peer-reviewed journals and industry conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoD grants for quantum research initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum education programs
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years quantum computing experience
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and quantum error correction
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, Cirq) and Python frameworks
- Strong background in quantum mechanics and linear algebra
- Publication record in Nature/Science or IEEE journals
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Ability to secure competitive research funding
