Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization problems
- Develop error mitigation protocols for NISQ-era quantum processors
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum architectures
- Lead open-source quantum software initiatives (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane)
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals
- Mentor PhD interns and junior researchers
- Secure $5M+ in government/private research grants
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information Science
- 3+ years of quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, Qiskit)
- Published research in quantum computing or related fields
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and complexity theory
- Experience with quantum error correction codes (surface, LDPC)
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding
