Job Description
Join NexusLabs at the forefront of technological evolution as we pioneer quantum computing breakthroughs for 2026. We're seeking a visionary Research Scientist to develop scalable quantum algorithms and hybrid-classical solutions that will redefine computational paradigms. This role offers unparalleled resources in our state-of-the-art Austin facility and collaboration opportunities with Nobel laureates and industry pioneers.
Our team operates at the intersection of physics, computer science, and materials engineering to solve previously unsolvable problems in cryptography, optimization, and molecular simulation. You'll shape the next generation of quantum hardware interfaces while publishing in top-tier journals and contributing to open-source quantum frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for practical applications in finance, logistics, and AI
- Develop error mitigation techniques for NISQ-era quantum processors
- Lead cross-functional prototyping of quantum-classical hybrid systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum gate architectures
- Author peer-reviewed publications and patent quantum computing innovations
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or PennyLane)
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault tolerance
- Proficiency in Python and low-level quantum circuit optimization
- Demonstrated experience with quantum hardware interfaces (IBM Q, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Strong background in linear algebra and computational complexity theory
- Ability to translate theoretical concepts into experimental implementations
