Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead error correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum-AI hybrid architectures
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Secure federal grants and industry partnerships for quantum initiatives
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and PhD candidates
- Develop quantum security frameworks for 2026-era applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years research experience
- Proven expertise in quantum algorithm development (QAOA, VQE, QML)
- Publication record in quantum computing or theoretical physics
- Familiarity with quantum hardware platforms (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong Python/C++ programming and quantum simulation frameworks
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding (NSF, DoE, DARPA)
