Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris, laying groundwork, and ensuring areas are safe and ready for work.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from the job site using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual labor.
- Assist Trades: Provide direct support to skilled tradespeople, including carpenters, electricians, and plumbers, as needed.
- Tool Operation: Operate basic construction tools and power equipment safely under supervision.
- Site Cleanup: Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant work site by sweeping, shoveling, and removing waste.
- Measurements: Assist in measuring and cutting materials to specifications when directed.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy physical labor for extended periods, including lifting, bending, and standing.
- Experience: Previous experience as a construction laborer or general laborer is a plus but not always required.
- Safety Conscious: Strong understanding of basic construction safety protocols and PPE usage.
- Reliability: Punctual and dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Communication: Ability to follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle preferred.
