Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople with daily construction tasks, including carpentry, masonry, and electrical work under supervision.
- Load and unload building materials, tools, and equipment from trucks and organize them at the job site.
- Perform general site cleanup, including removing debris, sweeping floors, and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Measure, cut, and handle raw materials, ensuring accuracy and safety standards are met.
- Operate basic heavy machinery and power tools (after training) as directed by the site supervisor.
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines to ensure a hazard-free workplace.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project milestones are met.
Qualifications
- Willingness to learn and a strong desire to build a career in the construction industry.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting, standing for long periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of safety rules or a strong commitment to learning them quickly.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred but not strictly required for entry-level roles.
- Valid driver’s license is a plus.
