Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Assist in excavation, digging, grading, and preparing construction sites for foundation work and structures.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from the job site using hand trucks, forklifts, or hoists.
- Equipment Support: Operate basic construction machinery and power tools under supervision to assist with concrete pouring, framing, or roofing.
- Site Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by removing debris and ensuring tools are stored properly.
- Quality Control: Perform basic quality checks on work areas to ensure compliance with project specifications and blueprints.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and company protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods, including lifting 50+ lbs repeatedly and standing/walking on uneven terrain.
- Willingness to Learn: Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply. A strong desire to learn skilled trades is essential.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are preferred.
- Basic Math Skills: Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
- Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with foremen, carpenters, and other tradespeople.
- Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as project schedules require.
- Safety Conscious: Familiarity with safety standards or a strong commitment to upholding them.
