Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up scaffolding.
- Material Handling: Load and unload building materials, tools, and equipment from trucks and transport them to work areas.
- Machinery Operation: Operate basic construction machinery and power tools safely under supervision.
- Assistance: Support skilled tradespeople (electricians, plumbers, carpenters) with various tasks as needed.
- Site Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized job site, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Measurement: Measure, cut, and shape materials according to blueprints and instructions.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in construction or general labor is preferred but not always required; on-the-job training is provided.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods, including lifting heavy objects (50+ lbs) and standing/walking on uneven terrain.
- Driver's License: Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record are highly preferred.
- Communication: Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions clearly.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of basic construction safety standards (OSHA) is a plus.
- Availability: Must be available for full-time shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.
