Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials using hand trucks, forklifts, or pallet jacks.
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing job sites by digging, pouring concrete, and setting up scaffolding.
- Equipment Support: Operate power tools and heavy machinery under supervision to complete tasks efficiently.
- Site Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret basic blueprints and diagrams to understand project requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with foremen and other laborers to ensure project deadlines are met.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry heavy objects (up to 50+ lbs) for extended periods.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction or general labor is preferred; entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic will be considered.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, hardworking, and dependable with a history of showing up on time.
- Communication: Basic verbal communication skills to understand instructions from supervisors.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the job site.
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
