Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from job sites efficiently and safely.
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing job sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up temporary structures.
- Equipment Support: Operate basic construction equipment (e.g., forklifts, jackhammers) under supervision to support skilled trades.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with OSHA safety standards.
- Assistance: Support carpenters, electricians, and plumbers with various tasks as directed by the site supervisor.
- Blueprint Reading (Basic): Interpret simple drawings and follow verbal instructions regarding project requirements.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and standing on feet for long hours.
- Driver's License: Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation are required.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction or general labor is a plus but not mandatory for the right candidates.
- Tools: Basic understanding of hand and power tools is an advantage.
- Safety Conscious: Must adhere to all safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Team Player: Must be willing to work collaboratively with a diverse crew and supervisors.
