Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, excavating, and leveling ground according to blueprints and safety regulations.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual labor.
- Assist Tradespeople: Provide support to carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and other skilled trades by fetching tools, mixing concrete, or holding materials.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and maintain construction tools and machinery to ensure they are in safe, working condition.
- Site Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by removing waste and adhering to OSHA standards.
- Quality Control: Assist in basic quality checks to ensure work meets project specifications and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction labor, general labor, or a related skilled trade is highly desirable.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs frequently, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
- Tools: Own basic hand tools (tape measure, hammer, level) is a plus.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
- Safety Training: OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus but not required.
